To date, the exclusive Rock The Ball For Barack participant list reads like an exciting “who’s who” of NBA greats past and present: Carmelo Anthony, Gilbert Arenas, Chauncey Billups, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett, Allen Iverson, LeBron James, Shawn Marion, Dwayne Wade and Jalen Rose…with many more soon to be announced.
Joining Rose on stage at the AMIB will be sports and entertainment celebrities including former NBA star Alonzo Mourning, Washington Redskins Jason Taylor (who will emcee the NFL segment), and actor/philanthropist Isaiah Washington.
On that same evening, the first-ever two ball inauguration celebration will be held at the Marriott Wardman Park in Washington D.C. Warwick will host the “Legends Ball” with co-host and gospel star Yolanda Adams with appearances by The Temptations (Dennis Edwards), Chaka Khan, George Clinton, Marvin Sapp, Peter, Paul & Mary, Nancy Wilson, Chuck Jackson, Harold Melvin’s Blue Note, Kirk Franklin, Taraji Henson, the H.B. Barnum Orchestra, the Caravans, Smokie Norful and Tito Puente, Jr.
Three-time GRAMMY® Award winning rapper and actor Chris “Ludacris” Bridges will chair and host the “Urban Ball,” which begins simultaneously with the Legends Ball. Big Boi of Outkast will co-host this ball featuring T-Pain, David Banner, Athena Cage, Cedric The Entertainer, The Cheetah Girls, Fantasia, Monica, Bella Steez, Latin American Idol winner Carlos Pena, Goapele and Bobby Valentino.
